200th Anniversary Celebration Weekend

5:00 pm: Registration
6:00 pm: Join us for a Rubber Duck Race, hosted by the Ayr Kiwanis Club, directly before our opening ceremonies. Our duck launch will be located behind The Ayr News building at 40 Piper Street in Downtown Ayr.

7:00 pm: Celebrate the opening of our Ayr 200 weekend alongside Mayor Sue Foxton, councilors, sponsors, and other invited guests. This event will feature a commemorative tree planting and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting for the newly-renovated Victoria Park pavilion.

4:00 pm - Dusk: Take a ride on the wild side! Cope Amusements will be on-site all weekend with rides for the whole family (daily until dusk).

7:00 pm - Midnight: Get your dancing shoes on! Doors open at 7:00 pm, performances begin at 7:30 at the Ayr Community Centre (Queen Elizabeth Arena). Tickets are $30 available at Ayr News, Ayr Home Hardware, Ayr Farmers Mutual, Music & Books, Team Vincent Motorsports, or at MacNeil & Dodd. Music by Fat Willies and DJ Hayden Ward

8:00 am - 11:00 am: This free community breakfast hosted by Neighbours Helping Neighbours will be held at Knox United Church. Donations of gift cards for Neighbours Helping Neighbours will be accepted.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Take a ride on the wild side! Cope Amusements will be on-site all weekend with rides for the whole family (daily until dusk).

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: The North Dumfries Fire Department, Waterloo Region Police Services, and Waterloo Region Paramedics will be on-site after the parade to show the vehicles they use everyday in protecting residents across Waterloo Region.

10: 30 am: Line up along Northumberland in downtown Ayr to see a variety of floats, bands, and community organizations join our parade route to celebrate our town's bicentennial. Hosted by the Ayr-North Dumfries Lions

Registration at 11:00 am, Begins at 12:00 pm: Join our local skate park users as they participate in fun games, pro rider demonstration, opportunity for some coaching and of course open riding time. 11:00 am: Following the parade our car show participants will have their wheels on display at the North Dumfries Community Centre.

11:30 am - onwards: The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is the largest Indoor and Beach volleyball club for boys and girls. They will join us from Cambridge to demonstrate their skills!

11:30 am: Join us for a community BBQ hosted and served by members of Ayr Farmers Mutual. Donated by Ayr Foodland.

12:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Join Willibald Farm Distillery & Brewery as they host a beer tent featuring brews crafted right here in Ayr!

TBD: Face Painting will be offered to celebrants young and old as a fundraiser for the North Dumfries Preschool Cooperative.

1:00 pm: After the parade, join us at the North Dumfries Community Centre for the opening of the Entertainment Stage.

1:30 pm & 3:30 pm: Come watch the Canadian Calvary perform on horseback at the North Dumfries Community Centre!

3:00 pm - 7:30 pm: Enjoy some tasty treats from local food trucks as you explore the Celebration Day events at the North Dumfries Community Centre.

7:30 pm: Enjoy the music of local singer-songwriter Amanda Braam as you wait for the movie under the stars.

8:30 pm: Join your neighbours and bring a blanket! Come and watch a movie under the stars beginning at dusk.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Take a ride on the wild side! Cope Amusements will be on-site all weekend with rides for the whole family (daily until dusk).

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Celebrate our community's rich farming history (and present!) with a display of antique farm equipment.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Visit adorable animals such as goats, sheep, rabbits, and alpacas up-close during our community day!

10:30 am: Join Rev. Thomas Kay and other faith leaders from our community for an interfaith service in Centennial Park. Please bring your own seating.

12:00 pm: Join your community for a picnic lunch at the North Dumfries Community Centre. Childrens activities hosted by the Kiwanis Club.

4:00 pm: Celebrate the closing of our anniversary weekend... until the next celebration 100 years from now!
